Professor Interaction (Virtual Visit) Expert Opinion

An expert opinion is most effective when the expert has a clear understanding of the specific facts, position, employer, or endeavor being evaluated. While the expert reviews the documentary evidence provided for the case, certain petitions may benefit from direct interaction between the expert and the relevant parties to provide additional context and first-hand insight.

Our optional Professor Interaction Service facilitates a virtual meeting between the faculty expert and the petitioner, employer, beneficiary, or other relevant representatives. The purpose of the interaction is to enable the expert to gain a more in-depth understanding of the specific circumstances of the case, including the nature and complexity of the work, the knowledge and expertise required, the beneficiary’s role, and the significance or anticipated impact of the work or endeavor.

For employment-based petitions, such as H-1B and other visa categories involving a specific employer and position, the interaction may help the professor better understand the employer’s business, the detailed duties of the position, the specialized knowledge required to perform those duties, and the beneficiary’s role within the organization. For other visa categories, the discussion may focus on the beneficiary’s proposed endeavor, area of expertise, achievements, or other case-specific issues relevant to the expert’s opinion.

The professor may incorporate relevant firsthand findings and observations from the interaction into the expert opinion, where appropriate. This additional level of engagement can help ensure that the opinion reflects a thorough understanding of the specific facts and circumstances underlying the petition and provides a more detailed, case-specific professional analysis.
