Outstanding Researcher/Professor (EB-1B) Expert Opinion (Criteria-Based)
Carnegie Evaluations provides comprehensive EB-1B Criteria-Based Expert Opinions prepared by qualified faculty experts in the petitioner’s academic field. Our experts analyze each claimed EB-1B evidentiary criterion, including major prizes or awards for outstanding achievement, selective memberships, published material about the individual’s work, participation as a judge of the work of others, original scientific or scholarly research contributions, and authorship of scholarly books or articles in internationally circulated scholarly journals. Where a particular criterion is supported by comparable evidence, the expert can provide a field-specific analysis explaining how that evidence demonstrates an equivalent level of achievement.
The expert does more than identify the existence of documentary evidence. Each criterion is evaluated within the context of the petitioner’s specific academic or research field, with professional analysis explaining the significance of the individual’s achievements, contributions, publications, judging activities, recognition, and academic accomplishments. Drawing upon their own academic and professional expertise, our faculty experts provide objective context regarding the standards and practices of the field and explain why the evidence is meaningful in demonstrating outstanding achievement.
The comprehensive opinion also includes a Final Merits Determination (FMD) addressing the petitioner’s overall standing as an outstanding professor or researcher. After evaluating the individual evidentiary criteria, the expert considers the record in its totality and provides an independent professional assessment of whether the petitioner has achieved the level of international recognition and distinction expected of an outstanding professor or researcher in the academic field.
