EB-1B (Outstanding Researcher/Professor)
To demonstrate that the beneficiary is an outstanding professor or researcher, one must include evidence of 2 of the 6 listed criteria below (or comparable evidence if any of the criteria do not readily apply):
- Evidence of receipt of major prizes or awards for outstanding achievement
- Evidence of membership in associations that require their members to demonstrate outstanding achievement.
- Evidence of published material in professional publications written by others about the noncitizen’s work in the academic field.
- Evidence of original scientific or scholarly research contributions in the field.
- Evidence of authorship of scholarly books or articles (in scholarly journals with international circulation) in the field.
<liEvidence of participation, either on a panel or individually, as a judge of the work of others in the same or allied academic field.
Carnegie Evaluations’ experts can opine on the veracity of such criteria claims based on the documentary evidence provided.
Document Checklist
- RFE, if any.
- A detailed letter describing the outstanding achievements of the beneficiary in the field of his/her endeavor.
- Any pertinent exhibits that support the criteria claims detailing the candidate’s outstanding research/teaching work.
- Employment verification letters showing at least three years of prior experience in a teaching/research position.
- Employment Offer Letter from a firm/university/think tank in the U.S, and other documentary evidence regarding the research position offered to the beneficiary.
- Educational documents of the beneficiary.
- Updated Resume.
