An EB-2 (Advanced Degree) Expert Opinion is designed to establish that the beneficiary meets the advanced-degree requirement for EB-2 classification. An independent professor evaluates the beneficiary’s academic credentials, either independently or in combination with qualifying progressive work experience, to determine whether they are equivalent to a U.S. master’s degree in a relevant field. The professor also analyzes the beneficiary’s proposed endeavor and explains why the specialized knowledge associated with a master’s-level education in the relevant field is required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the proposed work reasonably well.
