Carnegie Evaluations works with experienced U.S. university professors who evaluate the beneficiary’s qualifications within their respective areas of expertise.

An Academic & Work Experience Evaluation toward a Bachelor’s degree equivalency is prepared for U.S. immigration purposes when a beneficiary’s academic credentials alone may not establish the required U.S. bachelor’s degree equivalency. The evaluation considers the beneficiary’s academic background, specialized training, and progressively responsible professional experience to determine whether the combined qualifications may be considered equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in the relevant specialty, in line with the USCIS 3:1 framework. Such an evaluation is useful only where USCIS permits the relevant combination of academic credentials, training, and professional experience to establish the required degree equivalency for a particular immigration classification.

Our evaluators also provide Academic and Work Experience Evaluations toward a U.S. Master’s degree equivalency, in line with the USCIS framework for an “advanced degree” in certain employment-based immigrant classifications, such as EB-2. The evaluation assesses the beneficiary’s educational background together with at least five years of qualifying progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in the same or a closely related field to the major of the underlying bachelor’s degree.
